The challenge
Building each month’s staff schedule took hours of manual puzzle-solving: fitting every shift around each employee’s rules, time off and target hours, and catching mistakes by hand.
What we built
A scheduling app where the manager enters her weekly shift template, her employees with their rules in plain language, time off, target hours, and any rules that apply to everyone. AI builds the full month to fit, flags any shift it couldn’t fill, and checks each new rule for ambiguity so it’s read the way she meant it. She can swap people, adjust times, add shifts and check everyone’s hours on a color-coded calendar, then export it. Rules carry over month to month, so she only enters them once.
The results
A monthly chore that took hours is now a few minutes of setup and review, with fewer scheduling mistakes. Next up: a version that works on any device and sends drafts straight to Square.
